Tomoto is an another important vegetable in our kitchen. Tomoto is warm season crop, it grow very well in warm and cool climate.. The plant is highly affected by adverse climate conditions.

Propagation is through seeds. Soak seeds overnight in pseudomonas liquid before sowing to improve germination.The ratio is 20gms :1ltr ( Dissolve 20gms of Pseudomonas in 1 litter water and allow half an hour settle the particles in bottom). Filter the seed using a cotton cloth. Seeds can be sown 1 inch deep in pots or seed trays or directly on the ground. The soil should be kept moist by regular watering. .

Planting the seedling
Seedlings are ready for transplanting in the main field or grow bag when they reach a height of 15cm (four leaves)..Prepare the soil is the very important part in re-plantation. Soil should be well prepared several weeks before planting by adding well rotted manure, compost or any other organic matter and a balanced fertilizer. Lime or dolomite can be added to get the required ph level of the soil.. Take two part of soil and one part of river sand or coir pith and 1 part of bio fertilizer like cow dung or vegetable compost, mix them thoroughly and fill the grow bag. Also add 10 gms of lime powder and neem cake powder. Spraying 20% of Pseudomonas liquid weekly This is helpful to growth and prevent plants from pests and disease.Cow urine and dung are good bio fertilizer for tomoto. Tomoto will start yielding about 60 days after planting.Fruits should be picked when they are ripen.

Keep the area around the plants weed free. Remove weeds and grass carefully with hands.Silver leaf whitefly, heliothis, stink bugs, rough bollworm, looper caterpillars and green vegetable bugs. and Aphids are main insect pests. Neem oil with soap, Egg amino acid, beauveria bassiana are very helpful to prevent them.
